Department of Resident Services

HACSB encourages and supports the personal and economic advancement of its residents.

We provide a path for residents so they can achieve progress in their lives.

The Department of Resident Services was established to provide a variety of helpful services to residents of the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara.

 

Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program

A key HACSB resident services program. Residents set specific goals such as starting a business or buying a home. Participants may also qualify for a special savings plan.

Supportive Services Program

The Supportive Services program provides case management and  a wide variety of services to participants including counseling, medical treatment/assistance, and referrals for day-to-day living needs.

Youth Programs

HACSB offers two wonderful centers for academic,arts and other enrichment programs including computer labs and homework tutoring and clubs. Each center is located on-site at one of our eastside and westside apartment complexes and are open to all families who participate in Housing Authority programs.

VITA Tax Assistance

Free tax assistance and filing for all low-income residents in the Santa Barbara Community. Provided by trained volunteers in the most comprehensive free tax assistance program in Santa Barbara County. Offered from Feb. 1 - April 15. Find out more
